November 20, 2024 – The Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) is now available for a 30-day comment period.
November 5, 2024 - A Notice of Study Completion - Transportation Environmental Study Report will be posted in local newspapers (on November 21, 2024) and will be distributed to property owners in the study area, Provincial Government Agencies, Municipalities, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders.

January 8, 2024 - A Notice of Public Information Centre 2 will be posted in local newspapers (on January 18, 2024) and has been distributed to property owners in the study area, Provincial Government Agencies, Municipalities, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders. An in-person PIC will be held on January 25, 2024 at the Wellington and District Community Centre (Rotary Multi-Purpose Room) from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Welcome to the Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment for intersection improvements at Highway 62 and County Road 1 (Schoharie Road), in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
The Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) has retained Stantec Consulting Limited (Stantec) to undertake the Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA).
Project Description
The study will identify short-term and long-term intersection improvements, which may include improvements such as horizontal and vertical alignments, alternative lane configurations, addition of turning lanes, signalization, additional illumination, and roundabouts.
The details of the proposed work will be further developed as the Preliminary Design progresses and will be presented to the public and agencies at two Public Information Centres.
